Eric Lefkofsky Wants the Data to Cure Cancer

Tempus, co-founded by Eric Lefkofsky, seeks to be the operating system for cancer care. Tempus is a company that wants to make patient care data-driven and more suited to one’s own chemical makeup and genetics. This process would be achieved by making information that is already collected but sometimes not included as part of a patient’s long term record is more obtainable, but by including information that previously sounded like something out of science fiction due to the prohibitive nature of the cost.

For example, Tempus wants to make someone’s human genome a typical part of their care. This process used to cost around one hundred million dollars when it was first performed, but is now around five thousand per patient and dropping comparatively rapidly thanks to to the work of Lefkofsky’s company and others. By collecting this data, scientists and doctors can compare and analyze the genetic information of any cancer patient in the database to find relevant information that could help with another patient’s care and eventually maybe even find the links needed for new ways to handle disease treatment and probable cures.

Eric Lefkofsky also co-founded the company groupon and stepped down to chairman from CEO to focus on Tempus. Lefkofsky was inspired to create Tempus after his wife was diagnosed with breast cancer and he saw the fault in the medical system concerning patient data. Already an expert on disruptive technology and making businesses and organizations e-enabled, this project may be his most potentially impressive yet and offer a potential fix for a medical industry that many are disappointed in. In addition to Tempus, he has donated millions to cancer related causes and even joined the Giving Pledge where he has vowed to donate half of his assets to charity over time.

Lefkofsky also has a passion for serving those in the greater Chicago area. He not only founded the Lefkofsky Foundation, an organization that serves the area with a focus on initiatives that help the youth, but he is a member of the board of directors of The Museum of Science and Industry and the Art Institute of Chicago.

Dr. Clay siegell and his team of intellectuals with highly trained scientist skills take courage to combat the disease.

Seattle Genetics was founded in 1998 by Dr. Clay Siegell the main purpose of the firm was to establish the firm was to do research and come up with a cure to do away with the disease. Currently the primary focus of Siegell’s current research to develop a new form of robust antibody agents that can kill the cancer cells and possibly treat cancer with the goal to find a complete cure. Siegell’s current progress of partnering with some of the best alliances in the country like GeneTech and Pfizer. The firms are ready to offer to fund Sigell’s programs so that the firm can continue to operate smoothly. Any drugs discovered by Seattle Genetics will be tested and made reliable to the public.

This is the most interesting and bright times when it comes to cancer research. Dr. Clay has the capability to tremendous changes we are currently undergoing. This means that most of the people suffering from the disease can sleep in peace. With Dr.Clay Siegell’s hard work and teamwork, there are no doubts that they will eventually find the cure for cancer.
